What is the Endure House idea?
The Endure House is a God inspired idea.
One day I hope to be able to buy a large house where my husband and I can help people to endure… or start a network of houses that help people to endure…
I am still eking out the details, but the idea is to show the love of Jesus to people who need love. People who have changed, and want to keep changing. They likely have a bad home situation, and if they end up going home, they will go back to the way they were, towards death and destruction. We want to help them make it through. Help them to develop self-esteem. Help them with life skills like getting a job, saving money, finding an apartment. Help them to bear the discomfort of life on this earth through hope in Christ Jesus. Help them to develop lasting relationships and grow as a person.
These people likely have never experienced love before. Not unconditional love like the love of Christ. These people are likely 18-25, but we would not exclude someone based on their age.
They have to be clean of drugs and alcohol, and would be willing to submit to random testing. They must also stay current with all health care and take all prescribed medicine.
They have to want a new life. To have strength to endure: (definition from Merriam-Webster)

Based on the belief that we are souls that have bodies, this life is a temporary passage until we are united with Christ again in His Kingdom. Until that time, as Christ Followers, it is our job to do Kingdom work on Earth, and endure the hardship of this life. We are given the strength to endure through the love of Christ Jesus and the Body of Christ.

13-14God rescued us from dead-end alleys and dark dungeons. He’s set us up in the kingdom of the Son he loves so much, the Son who got us out of the pit we were in, got rid of the sins we were doomed to keep repeating.

Perhaps this idea goes beyond young folk. Perhaps this will be a place for families to gain healing and get back on their feet. Perhaps this vision is bigger than I ever thought before.
